Team Frugal: Corey Jackson

Being frugal is about more than being stingy with your money. It means being prudent, smart and economical with your finances and career decisions. Every Tuesday, we share profiles of athletes that exemplify what it means to be A Frugal Athlete.

It is well known that in order to create success you need to be around success. As they say iron sharpens iron. Although Corey Jackson had a short career in the NFL, he was able to take what he learned from his time as a professional athlete and create a platform for professional athletes to build off the field. Corey Jackson is the founder and CEO of Qwerkz app. Qwerkz app is a database for professional athletes to connect with each other to  share ideas, insights, information, and knowledge on various topics including business ventures. Corey Jackson is also very active on LinkedIN and is a motivational speaker as well as co founder of a real estate trust, Stone Lion.

Corey Jackson was able to build a program to help professional athletes showcase and be comfortable with their outside endeavors. Jackson shows that although you may be a professional athlete that isn’t an excuse to not express your other passions and skills. You never know when your career might be over. In Corey’s sake, he learned from his own personal experiences, when he stopped playing college basketball and then played college football to go onto the NFL and then from NFL to the business world. The key is to be a frugal athlete and be prudent in your decisions so that you are making the most of your current situation whether capital or resources to help reach your end goal.
