Team Frugal: Hannes Þór Halldórsson
Being frugal is about more than being stingy with your money. It means being prudent, smart and economical with your finances and career decisions. Every Tuesday, we share profiles of athletes that exemplify what it means to be A Frugal Athlete.
If you don’t follow us on Instagram you may have missed the memo that for the next few weeks we will focus on bringing attention to the amazing soccer players competing in the World Cup for our team frugal segment. It’s been great to see and research the different soccer players and how they make their personal financial and career decisions.
If you don’t watch the World Cup (WHAT ARE YOU DOING?) then you would have missed a filmmaker block one of the best players of all time, Lionel Messi’s, penalty kick to help his team, Iceland, earn a draw against world cup favorites, Argentina.
That’s right Iceland’s goalie is a also a filmmaker by trade….
In fact, the company he worked for before his soccer career took off, Sagafilm, has promised him his job back once he retires.
He’s worked with companies such as Coca Cola amongst others and continues to follow his passion of filmmaking while playing a sport he loves.
Halldorson is a great example of what it means to be a frugal athlete and shows that as an athlete at the highest level it’s very much possible to be frugal.
