Team Frugal: Alex Bregman

Being frugal is about more than being stingy with your money. It means being prudent, smart and economical with your finances and career decisions. Every Tuesday, we share profiles of athletes that exemplify what it means to be A Frugal Athlete.

There is a reason why Alex Rodriguez labels Alex Bregman as the most entrepreneurial baseball player today. In a sport where off field endeavors aren’t too publicized, Bregman is out to change the game for baseball as we know it. He claims he wants to be “The Lebron James of Baseball” according to an interview he did with Bleacher Report to open the year. Both on the field and off of it, Bregman has honed in on what it takes to be the ultimate businessman.

Bregman’s plan of attack to conquer the business world is by joining in the conversation. Through his active youtube channel with over 100k subscribers and popular twitter presence, Bregman is making sure he’s everywhere. Eventually Bregman plans on creating his own production company as he continues to grow his media presence.

To further exemplify how much Alex Bregman is dedicated to succeeding, he learned Spanish in order to communicate with his teammates better. Not only will he be able to communicate with his teammates but now he has a whole new demographic he can tap into for his media projects.

Alex Bregman isn’t Derek Jeter or Alex Rodriguez but he knows that business opportunity by simply opening up, creating content, and offering his opinion. His vision for building a media empire is not rocket science, by simply creating a disciplined road map he’s been able to make noise in a crowded space. Being an elite professional athlete helps but so does Bregman’s ability to put in the work.
